THE PARADOX IS A COMBINATION OF TWO MISSIONS IN ONE LIFETIME

The mission of Connection is chosen to make someone a “people person.” Their energy is replenished by being around people.

A mission of Avoidance is selected to ensure that a person seeks solitude and tranquility. They replenish their energy through alone time by being away from people.

The Paradox happens when a person’s soul has chosen both missions for this lifetime.

THE BENEFITS AND CHALLENGES OF THE PARADOX MISSION

Though the benefits the Paradox offers are enormous, it can create huge challenges for those who’ve chosen it (and their loved ones who may have difficulty understanding the push-pull that comes with the Paradox).

Ainslie shares a few stories about clients who’ve tried to balance their need for alone time with partners who may or may not empathize with their needs.
