Would it surprise you to know that there’s a connection between past lives and procrastination? It’s true, your soul carries traumatic experiences with it into future incarnations, and procrastination is just one result of the past life fears of failure and loss.

In this week’s sermon, Ainslie dives into how past life trauma may be playing into your struggles with procrastination, and what to do to move through the limiting beliefs. Click the video below to hear more.

life plan and procrastination

Procrastination can be a major block to fulfilling your soul’s goals for this incarnation. Some people procrastinate to a point where they completely miss the boat. For others, it’s just a timing thing. Putting things off may slow down the progress of their life but won’t completely derail them from fulfilling their purpose.

If you’re one of the many people who consistently put things off to the point of absurdity, I hope you’ll find some comfort in knowing that procrastination has its roots in past life trauma. Because that means healing is possible.

How Past Life Trauma Plays into Procrastination

Let’s say you wanted to be a doctor in a past life. It was a huge part of your purpose for that life, but your alcoholic and emotionally dysfunctional father kept drilling into your head that you didn’t have what it took.

When it came time to take your exams, all the conditioning from your father got in the way and you wound up failing. Instead of trying again, you gave up. And ultimately, failed to complete your life plan, which is one of the worst things that can happen to a soul.

That past life experience resulted in your soul carrying a huge fear of failure into your current incarnation. And left you with the feeling that you just aren’t smart enough. No matter what you do, you can’t let go of the feeling that you’re just never going to stand out from the crowd. You feel you’ll never be good enough, so what’s the point in trying? Almost like mediocrity is your birthright.

And so, you put things off. Even the things that are aligned with your life purpose. And then you feel miserable. You keep putting things off, and you keep feeling worse, and the cycle of failure continues.

This is just one of many examples of how past lives and procrastination go hand in hand. The good news is, healing from your soul’s past life fears is not only possible – it’s often easier than you may think.
